One of the most interesting photo assignments I had this year, was photographing an operation performed by a skilled surgeon and vein specialist Dr. Hamera and his medical team.

The operating room is a place with very tight rules both formal and informal. In order to effectively and safely do my work in this environment I had to be focus and very careful the entire time.

Even though I did my homework by watching every available medical TV drama beforehand 😉 , the one thing I did not anticipate, was my camera’s viewfinder constantly getting fogged up by my breath under the surgical mask.
Nevertheless, it was a great experience which I look foreword to repeating.
Although I can’t display all the images from this day, you are welcome to view selected samples in the Surgery gallery.

Most of the photographs in the Surgery set were taken with a Nikon d800, Nikon 35mm f/1.4G, Nikon 50mm f/1.8G, and SB-900 AF Speedlight.
