EOS R7 + Canon 0.71x Focal Reducer Problem

After using the Canon EOS R7 with the Canon 0.71x Speed booster I noticed that when stepping aperture down past f/4, there is a a purple/blueish blob in the middle of the frame.

 

When shooting wide open up to f/4 there is no problem and the quality of pictures and video files is good.

However, unless you mostly shoot wide open, purchasing the Canon 0.71x focal reducer for usage with Canon r7 may not be the best investment considering its expensive price tag.
